One Day Saddle Awareness Clinics: KZN

Number of clinics: Two planned:

Number of places per clinic: 4 to 6 minimum and 10 to 15 maximum

Dates: Tuesday October 19th with further time available on 20th.  Thursday 21st with some additional fitting/assessment time at private properties on 22nd.

Venues: Larane Trakehner Stud (Underberg) courtesy of Jodi James October 19th with additional riding/assessment morning on 20th.  One at Kilgobbin Stud in the Dargle courtesy of Mrs Carl Bronner - October 21st.

Organisers: Liesl Kruger (083) 280 8060 and Tamasine Smith (HZA) via e-mail (go to contact us)

Teacher: Norman Hyett

Clinic Details/Costs/Bookings: Costs will depend on the numbers but for 10-15 people charges are usually R350 per person.  This clinic helps anyone and everyone who has anything to do with horses - owners, riders, breeders, physios, vets and so on - to be more aware of what is required when fitting a saddle.  Sadly, fitters often come to make a sale or can be quite intimidating, this awareness clinic will give you the ability to stand up for your horse and ask the right questions.  The clinic involves looking at saddles both inside and out (and many will be horrified to see waht we actually put on our horse's backs) and a practical demonstration. Norman does his best to help you with the saddle you have already and so where possible, owners are invited to bring their horse and saddle.  Although he does supply saddles, the clinic is not a sales drive - and at the clinics run so far, attendees had to actually ask him about the brand he sells!  Norman really is about doing the best for the horse and as an Equine Bowan practitioner, he comes at saddle fitting from a different and very much physiological/do no harm, angle.  Do ask more when booking.  This is one of the best one day awareness clinics I have been on for a long time and I'd like to encourage as many as possible to go along.
